An Original Antique British Oil Lamp Converted to an Electric Table Lamp.
This interesting and decorative lamp base was originally an Oil Lamp base dating back to the 1880s.
It has a classic wide base shape and is made from cast iron with a varied finish and some original gilt in places.
It has its RD No to the base and is covered with ornate castings and details.
The lamp has been fitted with a modern earthed switched bulb holder and earthed modern wiring.
The bulb holder has a shade ring but no shade is included.
The lamp is also fitted with modern cable protection and a new cable stay.
The lamp takes one bayonet fitting bulb.

Condition...well used but sound....Points to note.........
1. Some small tarnish marks to the metal.
2. Wiring is new & good, earthed and the lamp works well.
3.Bulb holder modern and earthed.
4. Would make a great lamp for a period setting with a pleated shade fitted.
5. Shades and Bulbs are NOT INCLUDED
