This Listing is for ONE NEW Sheet of 12 Year of the Rat: Celebrating Lunar New Year 41¢ U.S. Postage Stamps from 2008

Mint. MNH. No flaws. From a Smoke-free and Pet-free Environment.

The U.S. Postal Service celebrated the Year of the Rat with the issuance of these stamps on January 9, 2008 in San Francisco, CA. Original colorful artwork by Kam Mak was combined with two elements from the previous series of Lunar New Year stamps - artist Clarence Lee's intricate paper-cut rat design and calligrapher Lau Bun's grass-style Kenji character for "rat." The rat is the 1st of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac associated with the Lunar calendar. People of Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Tibetan, and Mongolian heritage celebrate the Lunar New Year. People born in the Year of the Rat are said to be industrious, adaptable and ambitious.

1st in the Celebrating Lunar New Year series.

Features red paper lanterns - red for luck - hung in rows, as festive decorations for New Year celebrations.

An unusual and artistic gift for people born in the Year of the Rat.

Years of the Rabbit include 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020 and 2032.
