This is a double-sided white glass Ladies ceiling light fixture or sconce with bold green acid etched lettering (on two sides) on a chrome fitter.  This cute light most likely lit the way to the Ladies bathroom! Overall, it measures 5 ½”w and will drop 9” from the ceiling or wall once installed.  The canopy is 4 ½” dia. x 2”h and the shade is 5 ½”w x 6 ½”h and has a 3 ¼” fitter.  The fitter received a light polish and is in excellent condition, however it is not from the 40s and is probably more modern and the value is in the shade.  There are a few very tiny pit spots along edge which are not notable, but I have to mention.  The white glass triangle shaped glass shade is in perfect condition with no cracks or other condition issues.  I would say it is in mint condition as there are no surface scratches or loss of etching on the lettering.  This light will come to you with updated wiring, tested and ready to install.
