Velvet Illusion English 60's Mod Style Stretch Sweater
Velvet Illusion is famous for their 60's Dior/Courreges/Quant influenced designs and complex sewing. The first Velvet Illusion store opened in the late 1990's on Kensington Church Street and later in Camden Lock. The owner was Mickey Wolf an enthusiast of 1960's Fashion and Music. He personally designed all the clothes sold in his shop. Velvet Illusion became a cult shop for Mods and 1960's obsessives, attracting customers from all around the world. Unfortunately, both branches of the boutique shut down in 2007.
This sweater is made in a super stretchy, medium-weight wool blend fabric in contrasting black & white panels front and back. The fabric blend is 45% Merino wool, 45% Acrylic and 10% Elastic. It is cut with a 60's style flair for a Super-British look. The collar rolls inward in a reverse turtle neck. It is so strechy that the size is almost irrevelant!
It is left-over stock from our shop in Ashiya Japan when we were the Japanese distributor for Velvet Illusion in the early 2000’s. It is unworn and in perfect, new condition. It has been properly stored and has no smell or other issues. We have only one of these left!
