This is a rare Takamine PT-107 Dual made in 1987.  Plays great and sounds great plugged or unplugged.

I removed this listing due to the magnetic pickup in the neck was not working. I added a LR Baggs M1 Passive pickup. This is wired to the stereo output and has the magnetic LR Baggs M1 on the tip and the Palathetic Piezo on the ring. The other output is a regular 1/4 inch output and has the Takamine Palathetic Piezo only. The Palathetic pickup in the bridge works great and has the great Takamine sound and is controlled by the Brown Preamp and the Blender slide. Even when the magnetic pickup was working it was very low in volume and was not what I was hoping for. The LR Baggs really opens this up and you can have your LR Baggs Magnetic pickup going to one amp or channel and the Piezo to another amp or channel. Many Takamine users I talked to prefer this type of earlier Brown Preamp. The neck is very comfortable and is 42.33 mm wide or 1 43/64ths.

It has been used but not abused. Many light scratches, swirls, and normal wear on a guitar 36 years old but the sound has aged well.

This model has two pickups hence the name Dual.   There is one photo showing the PT107 Dual inside the soundhole but the LR Baggs covers it. The Takamine Palathetic pickup is in the bridge, which provides an incredible acoustic sound. The second original pickup is a magnetic picup [Please note as mentioned above this pickup is not working. I have checked the wiring and do not see anything obvious. --- (The second pickup is a special magnetic pickup in the neck taking the place of where the last two frets would be).  There are two controls on the side that are shown in the photos.  One control is bass, mid, treble, and gain. The other smaller controller is to mix the two pickups however, as mentioned only affects the output of the Piezo.

The top is unique looking and is a transparent black where the grain will show through.

The action is low at .090.  The nut is 1 43/64 inches wide or 42.33 mm.

Body depth is 4 inches at its widest. Very comfortable to play and sounds great plugged or unplugged.

I have gone to the Takamine website to get the specifications but the site does not have this listed.  I have asked the USA support for input and all they could tell me is what I already knew..

I have done a thorough cleaning on this and setting up the neck.  I have added new ebony end pins. One of the tuners had a broken button and I replaced all six with new pearloid PRS buttons.

The hardshell Takamine case is in good condition. I used very heavy duty tape (Gorilla) and taped over exposed wood.
