The display being capable of displaying 4000 counts rather than 2000 means you can read voltages of say 39.99 volts with up to 2 decimal places, whereas with a 2000 count meter, the display would have to switch to the 200v range and would only display one decimal place. Extended precision is applicable to current and resistance measurements too.
Fully automatic, so there's no range switch. The meter senses voltages greater than 0.8v to switch to the volts range. The current range is used when the red test lead (positive) is connected to the left-hand terminal rather than the right-hand one (the black lead always stays in the centre "COM" socket).
Auto power off after 15 minutes. On/off is a long press of the red power button.
The NCV button must be continually held down to make a non-contact voltage measurement. A short press of the same button turns on/off the flash light function.
The "H" button locks the display so it can be read clearly if the actual quantity being measured is jumping around and the display would otherwise be changing all the time. A long press of the "H" button turns the blue/white display backlight on. It turns itself off after a few seconds to conserve the battery power.

I've included the accuracy table from the manual. The level of accuracy this unit has should be more than sufficient for anyone into basic electronics or electrics.

You may notice the clear protective sheet stuck to the screen sticking up a little in the photographs. All meters are supplied brand new with this protective sheet fitted.
