NB: You'll see in some of the photographs, the instruction manual states "backlight" on the front cover. The manual is for both models of this multi-meter (one with backlight and one without). The model for sale here DOES NOT have a display backlight.
The meter beeps (and the lamp directly under the display flashes) with each mode change and with the continuity checker.
Hold button to freeze the display if the quantity you are measuring is varying rapidly, so you can take a reading.
Has a delta / difference function. E.g. If the meter is measuring a voltage, e.g. a car battery (12v) then a long press of the SEL button turns on the differencing function and the display goes back to zero. Now any other voltage you measure will be shown as the voltage minus 12 volts, so if you then measured say 13.2v, the display would show 1.2v.
Photographs showing the front and back of the unit and the mini test probes supplied. The leads will clip into the back of the case if required, although the flexible plastic outer bumper will need "training" as they're a very tight fit initially.
Runs off two AA batteries, not supplied.
I've included the accuracy table from the manual. The level of accuracy this unit has should be more than sufficient for anyone into basic electronics or electrics.
The power supply and it's crocodile-clip power leads depicted in one of the photographs showing the meter working are not included in the sale (shown for demonstration purposes only).
I'm also showing the capacitance meter working with 6 10000uF capacitors connected in series. The display is showing a slightly low value for 10000 divided by 6, but the capacitors have a 20% tolerance and being 10% or so below the nominal capacitance is therefore more than expected. The capacitors and croc clip leads shown in this photograph are not included in the sale.
