This 3 oz picturesque coin is dedicated to the legendary masterpiece “The Kiss” created by an Austrian symbolist painter Gustav Klimt. The coin is made in the form of a jigsaw puzzle.

Gustav Klimt was famous for being “persona non grata” in the middle of the 20th century. The reason is that he fought against traditional styles of 19th-century art by founding the Art Nouveau and Vienna Secessionist movements.

Klimt’s paintings have already appeared on a great number of coins, among which is his well-known artwork “The Kiss”. This new coin is so special because it breaks up the original artwork into 340 jigsaw puzzle pieces. But they are not separate pieces of the coin, it only looks like it. Eleven pieces are missed in order to leave the place for the name of the series. The obverse represents the back of the puzzle pieces and the artwork.
