Pair of George V sterling silver 5-light candelabra. Made by Lionel Alfred Crichton in London in 1911.

Each: Raised central socket on knopped support surrounded by four twisting and leaf-wrapped arms, each terminating in single socket with detachable chamfered and concave bobeche; wax pan same. Lights set in socket mounted to columnar shaft; raised and square foot. Sockets in form of Corinthian capital. Applied ornament: swags, scallop shells, paterae and acanthus leaves. Beaded borders. Converts to 3-light and 1-light (that is, candlestick).

Gorgeous end-of-an-era Edwardian Neoclassicism by a noted maker. Fully marked including retailer's stamp (same). Condition: Both shafts have a few pings. Otherwise very good.
