SASS EMPORIA are delighted to offer this spectacular saucer shaped ceramic cylinder vase produced by the premium quality porcelain makers of Rosenthal in Germany. This is a rare vase, part of the Tampere Series released to commemorate Rosenthal's centenary (1879-1979). Designed by Finnish industrial designer Sami Wirkkala, the son of the internationally acclaimed glass designer Tapio Wirkkala, Tampere was part of Rosenthal's exclusive Studio Linie Range. This ceramic is of exceptional quality, decorated in a luxurious finish using an olive green satin glaze contrasted with two unglazed diagonal lineate patterned banding. One circular band inside the saucer shaped basin, the other band is wrapped around the lower part of its cylindrical body. Featuring Rosenthal's signature raised clay imprinted emblem to its base, this is a magnificent example of a contemporary classic design by the son of a 20th Century design legend Tapio Wirkkala!
