WONDERFUL LARGE 19C ROSEWOOD ANTIQUE JEWELLERY BOX - FAB INTERIOR

For sale is a WONDERFUL 19c figured veneered rosewood inlaid antique restored and repolished jewellery box. Dates approximately 1820/1860.

In WONDERFUL restored condition. FULLY LOCKS

One old veneer repair to the back top left corner, one a tiny nibble repair to the right side edge which is nothing. Otherwise a terrific box in great restored order.  

Its becoming harder and harder to obtain boxes in this sort of condition. 

Inlaid with the original mother of pearl and pewter stringing to the top and front. Further inlaid with mother of pearl to the central cartouche and keyhole escutcheon. Slight old nibble repair to the mother of pearl just under the key which is nothing. The side draw is lockable with its own key. The draw runs in and out with ease. The box also comes with its original solid brass handles. The brass is slightly pitted with age however the handles work well.

It is a really terrific box!!

Box retains the original solid brass lock, original hinges and top catch. Supplied with a silk tassel and Victorian key that FULLY LOCKS the box to the top section, slightly fiddly but does the job well. And also its own key to the draw that works perfectly. Full instruction once sold.

YOU ONLY GET THIS TYPE OF QUALITY FROM US.

Comprising a wonderful interior that has been relined in expensive velvet material of the highest quality. All the added dividers within the top section and side draw can easily be repositioned or removed if desired.

Beneath the base of the box have also been lined in velvet to stop any scratches to other surfaces.

A superb box, and would make a fantastic gift.
