To complete your Denon DSD-500 Cocoon experience, you can download the Denon Cocoon App to control the speaker dock. It's a pretty and a smart thing. Upon attaching it for the first time, it automatically recognizes the colour of your Cocoon and adapts its surface accordingly. It also automatically turns the language setting to the language used in your mobile device. It's just as much fun to play with as the Cocoon itself.


Please note the Denon Cocoon App for set up is no longer supported by Apple Above iOS 11, if you have an older Apple device you can still use the App, for newer devices you can easily set up your Wifi connection for Air Play via a PC or Laptop

It only takes 5 minutes to set up and you can stream Music direct from your device as normal, Spotify , Apple Music , YouTube , Deezer , Tidal , Tunein Radio etc  etc all fully work  notes from Denon below.

Apple removed the support for 32-bit applications in iOS 11. As a result of this, the current "Cocoon Remote App" will no longer work for those iDevices with iOS 11 or later installed.

If you have iOS 11 installed now, the following options will still provide you with ways of enjoying your product:

  • TuneIn App - Allows you to listen to Internet radio which can be then streamed using Apple AirPlay to the Cocoon
  • Music App for Music on iDevice - Allows you playback all your music on your iDevice which can be streamed using Apple AirPlay
  • DLNA player app such as 8 Player (full version only) for DLNA music streaming
  • Any streaming service app (and stream via AirPlay) to add support for other streaming services

Unfortunately,  it will not be possible to use the following functions with iOS:

  • Timer Functions
  • Display dimming functions
