MECCANO MAGAZINE
March 1938 Volume XXIII (23) No 3
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR FURTHER IMAGES

Meccano Magazine was a classic magazine for boys that ran for decades and covered not only Meccano model making but also had a wide variety of other non-fiction articles focusing on engineering, trains, planes and automobiles. These Pre-War issues are particularly interesting. Additionally, the adverts are wonderful!

In this issue:
  • Cover Picture - A Down Midland Express
  • Midland Section Locomotives of the LMS - from Single-Drivers to 4-6-0s
  • The First Atlantic Crossing Under Steam - The Triumph of the Sirius
  • On the Footplate of the Loch Long - West Highland Locomotive
  • Driving a Traction Engine
  • Scotland’s Empire Exhibition - 300-ft Observation Tower - Bellahouston Park, Glasgow
  • Sparking Plugs - KLG Factory
  • The Dornier Wal - German Flying Boat - Do.18E
  • John Ericsson
  • North to West by the Pines Express - Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway
  • The World’s Largest Telescope - Mt Wilson, Mt Palomar
  • Diesel Trains in the United States
  • Gathering the Cork Harvest

Pages 129 - 192 plus additional advertising pages

The magazine measures 28 x 21 cm

Condition: Good - the magazine is in good vintage condition, the staples have rusted. There is evidence of reading wear, creasing to the covers and the magazine is slightly tatty with some minor damage to the front cover - visible in the pictures below. Considering the magazine is over 85 years old, its condition is good but certainly not perfect.

I accept returns, and if you'd like to see further pictures, or any questions - just ask!
