Antique 1830 Broderie Perse Crib Quilt Top
DESCRIPTION: Rarely does one find a broderie perse crib size quilt top. This crib quilt top is made with beautiful chintz fabric from the 1830's. Bouquets of flowers in a center medallion surrounded by a meandering leaf motif. It is hand pieced and hand appliqued. Eight to ten stitches to the inch. Also some wider stiches are present. That suggest that it may be a generational quilt top. Mother daughter, grandmother grandchild. The fabric is strong and sturdy. The color is bright and cheerful with no fading or fabric loss. This is a great prize for any serious collector. 100% cotton.
CONDITION: It is in very good condition, some light water mark stains. (SEE PHOTO).
