conducted by Arturo Toscanini. The label
“Schubert’s Symphony No. 2 B Flat Minor Movements 2-4. This excerpt is 15 ½ minutes. The recording begins while music is in

An undated excerpt from The NBC Symphony Orchestra broadcast. The symphony is conducted by Frank

with the announcement “You have been listening to a set of variations on a
theme by Tchaikovsky by Anton Arensky and recorded by The National Broadcasting
String Symphony Orchestra under Frank Black”.

There is only one date on the discs, March 23, 1940, and I suspect the rest of the material is from the same period
Discs are in Excellent- condition, sleeves have some wear
and a tear that is visible in the scans.
Please note that most standard turntables will not play 16
inch radio transcription discs. I Will make
a CD copy of both discs for the buyer only
