A highly collectable small brass padlock with the original iron key

Padlock stamped: H. Mitchell London Newsafe Guard
Key stamped: H. Mitchell London
The lock has a unique stamped serial number of 60476
This is a key retaining padlock - The key can not be removed until the shackle is closed

To open: Turn key clockwise 270º and lift shackle (The key will be retained)
To close: Push down shackle, turn key anticlockwise and remove key

Harry Mitchell was established in 1894 at 3-5 Leighton Road, Kentish Town, London NW
He specialised in supplying the more unusual locks and padlocks
He died on 27th September 1930
