According to Platts in "THE KNIFE MAKERS WHO WENT WEST" "information about tang stamps and blade etches should be taken as a general rule".
The 50's are as close as I can come on dating this knife.
Appears to have been cleaned.
Fixed Blade Hunting Knife.
PRE-Pattern Stamp (48 PATTERN)
7-3/4" OAL and 4" Blade.
Handles -Brass Guard- Pommel are all tight.
Includes a worn and marked Western full grain leather oak pattern embossed sheath, as seen in pictures.
