Transatlantique - French Line

Framed repro poster by Paul Colin, c.1952

The French Line sailed the Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean. Pleasure cruises became vital to the shipping lines in the 1930's since transatlantic business had been sharply affected by the Great Depression.

This is a classic image rendered late in the career of Paul Colin, the legendary Art Deco poster artist. The stripes of the French flag permeate this proud image for the great French Line, evoking all of the glamour of the great age of travel.

An amazing art deco image in a 30 x 24 cm. (12 x 10 inch) size clipframe.
