Up for sale, a 2021 Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 1955 Telecaster Wildwood 10 Journeyman Relic in showroom-clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, COA, hangtags and case candy. Lightweight at 6lbs 13oz, this Tele delivers the complex midrange character, detailed note attack, and glassy articulation inherent in a '50s tonewood complement comprising an ash body and one-piece AA flame maple neck.

The pickups are a pair of Custom Shop Wildwood 10 Twisted Tele single coils, hand-wound by Josefina Campos. These Telecaster pickups offer a dash of sparkling Stratocaster guitar character, and each pickup is tailored to its position (neck and bridge) to achieve distinct sonic properties. The neck pickup's taller bobbin is designed to accommodate more windings and as a result is more Strat-like in nature, while the bridge pickup has a slightly shorter bobbin for dark full-bodied midrange and chewy twang. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Tele is dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The AA flame maple neck has what the Custom Shop describes as a "57-style Soft V," yet the carve is notably substantial, more in-line with a U-shape, offering ample shoulder and measuring .850" deep at the 1st fret and .990" at the 12th. The fretboard has a modern 10" fretboard radius and flawless slender and tall 6105 fretwire. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the straight neck and 25 1/2" scale, and the carved bone nut measures 1.650" in width. The headstock has a '50s Tele logo, Limited Edition Custom Shop chevron decal, and aged Kluson-style tuners.

The electronics function as intended with the Wildwood 10 Twisted Tele pickups and modern three-way Tele switching. The factory gold hardware includes the the bridge which features a trio of saddles and is embossed with the R-prefix serial number, and the control plate and domed knurled knobs round things out.

The "Thin Skin" two-tone Sunburst gloss nitro lacquer finish has been very lightly sprayed to maximize the resonance of the body, and this guitar has been sparingly played since new, with barely a scratch beyond Fender's factory aging. Simulated wear includes a few marks and faint "shattered glass" lacquer checking, and the finish is worn to the bare maple along much the neck profile, also part of the factory aging.

The original black tolex Fender Custom Shop hardshell case is included along with the COA, hangtags, and case candy.
