  The older mouthpieces had a denim look to the table which was created by a stone grinding wheel

"Bergs with a very pronounced upward scoop right behind the bite-plate are called ‘Scoop Bill’ Bergs

. These all have a straight drop off at the back of the baffle. These did not change in design very much from the early 1950s through the 1980s.  Old Bergs run about .005″ small, so  this 80/2 can be really a 75/2 = as a 5 or 5* by Otto Link.

• Il s'agit d'un modèle "Scoop Bill"  produit, EN PARFAIT ETAT dans les années 1950 ou au début des années 1960, datation identifiable grâce aux marques d'usinages laissées par les nouvelles machines acquises à la fin des années '60 et laissant des marques d'usinage; utilisées jusqu'au tout début des années 1980.

• Autre indice d'ancienneté, le SMS indiquant le facing est déporté sur le côté droit ("offset").
• Les anciens bec Berg larsen sont toujours moins ouverts de +/- 0.05" que l'ouverture indiquée : ce 80/2 est vraisemblablement en fait plus proche d'un 75/2, assez proche d'un 5 ou 5* chez Otto Link.
• La chambre "2" indique que la chambre est médium
