Plate measures 7 inches across, 5 inches across in the inner rim, 1 inch tall, 3 3/4 inches across the bottom. The insert is 4 1/4 inches across, and fits into the inner rim of the plate. The lid measures 4 inches tall to the top of the round, gold encrusted open handle.
Plate is marked on the bottom, as shown, and says "GDA France" and "GDA Limoges" in laurels. GDA stands for the manufacturer "Gerard Dufraisseix & Abbot." It is marked in red and says "Tilden Thurber Co., Providence, RI" Tilden Thurber was a high end jewelry and fine goods store in Providence that closed in 1991.
Antique used condition. There are some nicks on the plate, and a fixed chip on the underside of the plate.
