I am a geologist and I have decided to sell some of my collection I have acquired in my travels through self collection, trading, or purchasing. I have a huge collection so there will be plenty to check out!
This is a classic chunk of lead ore containing steel gray galena with small brassy colored pyrites, some small tan-yellow calcites, and some white druzy quartz on the backside. This will make a nice specimen for a collection or a teaching aid for students.
The dimensions are 7.5 cm length, 5.0 cm width, and 3.0 cm height. It weighs 179 g.
The provenance is unknown, however my best guess would be a mine in Missouri, USA based on the minerals present and crystal structures.
