Description

Junkers Dessau - A magical connection

In the beginning of the 20th At the end of the 19th century Dessau shaped Hugo Junkers and Hugo Junkers shaped Dessau. Although he didn't grow up there, he called the city his home, to which he was always happy to return. Last but not least, the spirit that prevailed in this city was one of the reasons why the Bauhaus moved to Dessau, the "Junkers city", as it faced too much conservative headwind in Weimar. Hugo Junkers was always a supporter and promoter of the Bauhaus. Especially in the field of tubular steel furniture, he worked closely with the artists and masters of the Bauhaus. The first models of Marcel Breuer's famous tubular steel chair were created in the Junkers works. The watches in the " Junkers Dessau" series fully correspond to the design philosophy of the Bauhaus - simple, technical, with a focus on craftsmanship.
