COMFREY 'BOCKING 14' ROOT CUTTINGS X 5.

You will receive 5 root cuttings and an information guide.

Comfrey is one of the most useful plants you can grow in the garden or on your allotment. It has a range from natural medicine through being a wonderful fertiliser to being an animal feedstuff. Included with this listing is 5 root cuttings (approx 5 cm in length) safely wrapped up in moist newspaper and then carefully sealed in polythene.

You also receive an information leaflet with full instructions on how to plant the root cuttings. Everything is shipped 1st class in a padded envelope. On receiving your order, plant out in small pots within 24 hours. We have a family allotment and I would not be without my steady supply of comfrey. I use it as a liquid feed, a compost activator and also line my vegetable trenches with it. Liquid fertilisers are a great way to nourish your plants, providing nutrients in a readily available form, so they’re quickly absorbed. There are many chemical fertilisers that will do the job but, by making your own using comfrey leaves, you’ll have a steady supply of organic, nutrient-rich feed at little or no cost. Deep-rooted comfrey can extract large quantities of nutrients from far below the soil’s surface, inaccessible to other plants. These nutrients are stored in the leaves. Gardeners can access these nutrients by harvesting the leaves and letting them break down to release a rich, dark, nutrient-rich plant food.

Comfrey contains high levels of the basic NPK nutients, drawn up from the deep by its extensive root system. This NPK mix makes it an ideal fertiliser for many vegetables but especially so for potatoes and tomatoes. On the HDRA trial ground at Bocking in Essex, LD Hills developed the most valuable variety, Bocking 14. High in nutrients and sterile, Bocking 14 is exclusively propogated from root cuttings. Any questions just ask.

I started out with some small cuttings five years ago and have not had to buy any more fertiliser from the garden centres since! I originally couldn’t get it in shops and garden centres so ended finding it available from the internet. Took a while to track it down but so glad I did. I haven’t looked back! It is so easy to grow from cuttings even my kids now how to do it! For a small price you get a lifetime supply of the best organic fertilizer for your garden. The liquid feed is not only great for the allotment, you can use it on all flowering plants and hanging baskets too! It is also very easy to take further root cuttings to make more plants for family and friends. Many thanks for taking time to read my listing.
