Hammer and Anvil – in German. Two volumes, by Fr. Spielhagen. Volume 1 is from year 1906 and
volume 2 is from 1907. Antique books in
German – both beautifully bound antique works of book art. Lovingly detailed,
gold tone impressed name on the front “Fr Spielhagen.”
7” high x 5” wide x 1” deep.
The edges of the pages are in very good condition, as
are the outside of the books. Slight bowing on volume 2, not very noticeable
unless viewing very close.
Vol 1 – has two signatures on the inside pages, some slight rippling on the first few pages. A slight bending on the upper right side of the first five pages. Some browning on the upper left of the first few pages
Vol 2 - has two signatures on the inside pages, and some numbers written between both signatures. some slight rippling on the first few pages. A slight bending on the upper right side of the first five pages. Some browning on the upper left of the first few pages.
The books show well, and would be a nice addition to
anyone’s library of fine books. The bindings appear in good order.
