The Last Lanc’

In 1965 a crew of eleven volunteers flew a worn-out war-time Lancaster Bomber from Sydney to Biggin Hill, England, a distance of over 12,000 miles, in order that the aircraft could take its place with other vintage aircraft in a British museum. It was, at the time, the last Lancaster remaining in flying condition.

This book is the story of how the group of dedicated volunteers restored the plane to air-worthy condition to tackle the long flight & the day to day experience of flying it there, a 21 day journey.

Published by Boolarong Publications (Queensland)  in 1982, First Edition, Hardback with dust cover , well illustrated.

Size: 162 pages. 245 x 170 x 18mm, 550 gram.

Condition: This book is in Very Good condition. As mentioned previously, there is a dedication signed on the facia page, otherwise it is a beautiful clear copy, lovely white pages. The dust cover is worn to the base and top of spine.  A really lovely book.
