Description

"Flying the China Soup Line". During World War II, after the Japanese blocked the Burma Road, the CNAC flew supplies from India to Chungking the capital of fighting China. The Douglas DC-2's and DC-3's flew the Hump Route over the Himalayas. Despite the large casualties inflicted by the Japanese and the ever-changing weather over the Himalayas, these flights operated daily, year round, from April 1942 until the end of the war.
