DESCRIPTION: This is a SCARCE to RARE embossed, graduated pharmacy / druggist / drugstore bottle with a cork opening! Approx. half pint bottle. Clear glass. The Garrett Company started as a wine manufacturer in late nineteenth-century Norfolk, but the proliferation of dry counties -- culminating in Prohibition -- forced the company to move production outside the Commonwealth of Virginia. We discovered this bottle among the contents of an estate in Norfolk, Virginia. This alcohol product includes the word "medicinal" in the title, so it likely dates to the Prohibition era. This was obviously found under a house or within a wall; it was not dug from the ground. A great addition to your vintage Prohibition or drug store memorabilia collection!
