Description: Hardcover. Octavo. [16], 266; [6], 267-526, [2]pp., with an engraved title page plate dated 1632. This copy has an added contemporary etched portrait of the author mounted on the verso of the engraved title page. "The Minde of the Frontispiece" is printed on verso of the first letterpress leaf (facing the engraved title page); "Her Epitaph" is printed on recto of final leaf. Bound in later quarter brown morocco and cloth over boards, gilt spine, modern laid paper endleaves. Ex library with bookplate on front pastedown, shelf number stamped in gold on spine, folded printed slip laid down on blank recto of the first letterpress leaf, and very light small ink stamp on verso of title page. Slight dampstain on the first few text pages, edges lightly soiled, very good. A well-preserved copy, with a nice added etched portrait of Quarles. *ESTC* S2290.
