Here for sale is my late 49 early 50 split window beetle 

Imported from Sweden in 1996 I’ve spent time stripping grey primer and red oxide from the car to reveal the original L51 bordeux red paint below. 

I’ve still the roof to do but it it’s still under there, can be seen in the pictures.

 

Has never been welded and doesn’t need any remarkable given its age and rarity. 

Heater channels and floor pans are all original and can be polished original paint if that’s your thing. 

Interior is all original not perfect seats do requires some skilled restitching but are by no means undoable. Serviceable as is

So mechanically it’s very good running a later 1500 single port engine in good health. 

12v charging for better starting and reliability

Has a narrowed front axle fitted and dropped spindles 

Adjustable rear spring plates , I do however have original spindles and plates if req will go with the car if wanted to go back std

Every original trim item present and working, From og rear lights and semaphores to bumpers handles and interior trim .

 Vital for these early cars as to replace would be a fruitless search.

Has OG cable brakes all refurbished and function as they should with full service to engine and gearbox oil changed

I’ve driven it as my daily transport if needed and has performed well I’d happily drive this car anywhere.

Running 4.5 and 5.5 aluminium 356 style wheels with new tyres. 

Brand new high torque starter motor

Essentially a very capable vintage beetle that draws a crowd where ever it goes I and they don’t come up for sale often 

Sadly  don’t drive it as much as I should and I have various other early projects that need my attn so it’s time to set this one free
