Le valvole ECC83 prodotte in Jugoslavia da EI (Elektronska Industrija) con placche lisce ("Smooth plates") sono state fabbricate utilizzando macchinari TELEFUNKEN e strutturalmente risultano molto simili alle TELEFUNKEN. Per quanto riguarda il suono alcune caratteristiche collimano ma sebbene molto aperte sull'estremo acuto non risultano brillanti come le sue ispiratrici. L'estremità alta dello spettro seppur lucente risulta tendenzialmente morbida con una nota di calore che accompagna tutto il messaggio musicale. Queste valvole sono state ampiamente utilizzate negli anni '70 e '80 e sono ancora apprezzate dagli appassionati di audio e chitarristi. Il suono di questa valvola può essere caratterizzato da un'ampia risposta in frequenza, con medie ben pronunciate e un'armonica di secondo ordine piacevolmente presente.

The ECC83 valves produced in Yugoslavia by EI (Elektronska Industrija) with smooth plates ("Smooth plates") were manufactured using TELEFUNKEN machinery and structurally are very similar to the TELEFUNKEN ones. As far as the sound is concerned, some characteristics coincide but although very open towards the high end, they are not as brilliant as its inspirers. The high end of the spectrum, albeit shiny, tends to be soft with a note of warmth that accompanies the whole musical message. These tubes were used extensively in the 70's and 80's and are still popular with audio enthusiasts and guitarists alike. The sound of this valve can be characterized by a broad frequency response, with well pronounced mids and a pleasantly present second order harmonic.
