I am pleased to offer for sale this beautiful silver plated lidded tureen with glass insert bowl.

The maker of the item is FB Rogers Silver Company of Massachusetts which was set up in 1883 and was considered to be a quality producer of silver items.

It is difficult to date silver plated items from this maker so I will call it vintage. I thinks its possibly mid to late 20th century.

The underside of the bowl has the makers mark as shown in last photograph

It is a piece of nice proportions with an elaborate handle to the lid and three elaborate feet to the base. The tureen bowl has a gadroon border.

The tureen has the added bonus of a pyrex glass insert dish which while I don't think was part of the original tureen adds a very useful and practical addition. This can be heated to keep food warm for serving.

CONDITION REPORT:

 

The tureen is in very good condition with no loss to the silver plate. It has some minor scratches commensurate with age and use. 

There are no dings or dents

The glass liner dish has a small crack but it is very stable and hard to notice (see last picture)
