If you are using 7189, E84L is the best substitution because they can withstand 450V with 1.5W increase/per channel compared to 400V on 7189 while EL84 is only at 350V maximum. These tubes are carefully tested on my TV-7/U at 73-72-72-72/46 min good with NOS at 70. They sound wonderful on my friend’s amplifier Scott 222C. What you see is what you get.
