Apollo 10 was launched om 05/18/1969, with veteran astronauts Thomas Stafford, John W. Young and Eugene A. cernan aboard. On their second swing around the Earth, the men received the "GO" to place their craft in translunar trajectory. After docking the lunar module with the command module, they continued with their "Dry Run" mission in preperation for the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. They performed all aspects of the Moon landing except the actual landing. This mission proved the feasibility of lunar-orbit rendezvous and took the men to within 10 miles of the Lunar Surface.  The crew splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on 05/26/1969 where they were recovered by the USS New Orleans ( LPH-11) East of Pago Pago, U.S. Samoa. The covers were cancelled at Cape Canaveral, Fl.
