Il DMSO (dimetilsolfossido) è un solvente polare organico non tossico valido sostituto della Dimetilformammide.

In ambito veterinario ha effetti anti-infiammatori come applicazione topica per ridurre il gonfiore acuto dovuto a trauma su cani

cavalli, bovini, ovini e caprini  E’ un eccellente agente per la rimozione delle vernici da legno e da metallo, con un vantaggio

in termini di sicurezza rispetto ad altre sostanze come il nitrometano e il diclorometano

NB: Nella stagione invernale o comunque a basse temperature ( inferiori a +18°C )
il DMSO puo' cristallizzare, questa e' una normale caratteristica per questo prodotto,
per questo motivo deve essere mantenuto al di sopra dei + 20°C

Se il DMSO si cristallizza una volta a causa di una conservazione a temperatura
troppo fredda e' sufficiente riscaldarlo immergendo il flacone in un bagno di acqua
tiepida o lasciarlo per alcuni minuti su un calorifero fino a farlo ritornare allo stato liquido
