I purchased this doll from the original owner 14 years ago. I have stored her in my glass enclosed case. She has always been displayed standing in front of her box not inside. My dolls are in a climate controlled room with no natural light.

1970 Francie with Growin Pretty Hair stock 1129 near complete with original box. This is the second issue of this doll.

Growin Pretty Hair Francie is in excellent clean condition. She has all makeup nice with rich color. All eyelashes nice and long. No nose nips, no neck splits, no earring holes, no green ear. Her hair is nice. I put a new clear elastic band that hold the top pouf ( not sure what you call the style). There does not seem to be any missing plugs just a bit thinner in back around the hole opening for the Growin ponytail. I’ve seen this on most of them. The ponytail is dry on the ends could use conditioning or styling. The ponytail does work. The instructions show how. Basically your pulling up on an angle once to pull it out long. Do it again it starts to retract and you push it back inside to make shorter or whatever length you like. The head itself is a little darker than the body. This is typically seen on all of these dolls. The body is nice. Arms and legs are secure. Legs bend and click 3x each correctly. You have to be careful moving her legs or arms. I have seen many where the leg and arm falls off from rough handling. She has all fingers and toes. No pin holes. Just normal factory square on backs of legs. Only flaws I can find are some small light red marks around the armpits. I show in photos. It’s from clothes. Her bottom is marked Mattel 1966 Canada 1967 Japan.

She come wearing her original outfit. It’s excellent with little wear at the shoulder area where the metallic is slightly faded. Secure snap in back. Perfect black and white Francie tag inside. One flaw small spot on front bottom of underskirt. Shown in photos. Not noticeable since it’s on the underskirt. Pink squishy heels marked Japan on bottom of each. Mint condition. Clear X stand looks great has some surface scratches.

There are some hard to find accessories too. The little white brush and comb are included. Also very hard to find pink hair flower. No Bobby pins they are missing. The original plastic holders 3 of them and plastic bag that they were packaged in originally is still with the box. The hair pieces (2 of them) are New still factory attached to the box liner under plastic domes. The original instructions are included. They are complete with no tears but there are age spots here and there on them. The original Barbie and Friends Booklet is included too. Also no tears or writing inside but some pages show faint age spots.

The box itself is a bit beat up. The top lid was opened only bottom end still sealed. There are scuffs, scratches, creases. There are some black spots here and there. The cello on the front window is detached from the box. I never bothered to reattach it cause it didn’t bother me. The insert is nice and clean. Once again the insert has the two hair pieces still factory attached under the plastic domes.

Once again this is a rare one to see in the box. Plus it’s a second issue box. I have not seen on here in a long time.
