This is a very unique collectible!! You are looking at an 18"x11" photo plaque from the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, with an embedded Game Used (tracking) puck from Game-2 of the finals on September 29, 2016.
The plaque is autographed in silver sharpie across the top by Braden Holtby, Corey Crawford and Barry Trotz; across the bottom in black sharpie by Jonathan Toews, Joel Quenneville and Sydney Crosby; Sydney Crosby was the MVP of the tournament... and obviously at least two of these players are heading straight to the Hall of Fame.
Let me answer some anticipated questions:
- Why sell it? I am purging my life and everything must go... most is being sold locally on FB Marketplace but I felt this item needed a wider audience to get the best price.
- Where and when and how did I get it? The plaque was purchased for a price I have long ago forgotten, along with a couple autographed jerseys at a Washington Capitals-sponsored silent auction for charity in the Fall of 2016 during a Capials game; I was season ticket holder at the time. The WCH tournament was played in Washington D.C. a few weeks prior.
- Why no COA? Good question, and I was not pleased the Capitals auction representative could not locate it when I picked it up after the 3rd period the night of the auction; however, let's be real... the item was signed at the arena just weeks before, the Capitals (a reputable seller) sponsored the auction and the autographs are 100% spot-on to known representatives that can be found anywhere online, and finally the Capitals COA is just a piece of paper and not the hologram sticker variety from an authenticator anyway. If you are actually still concerned, take it for authentication within 60-days and send it back for a refund in the same condition it is in now if it does not pass. (this is the only return condition)
My feedback is 100% positive... and I have been on eBay for 23 years of varying degree of activity.
