A beautifully patterned West German Pottery vase, made by Jasba in the 1960s. The vase is glazed all over in a matte black brown. A white overglaze, which drips in parts, has then been applied to the vase. The simple but very striking geometric pattern has been created when the white overglaze has been partly scraped away, leaving the dark underglaze showing from underneath. The vase has a beautifully contrasting shiny green glazed interior.

The identifiers 173/18 and 'W.Germany' are embossed on the bottom of the vase. The original foil sticker remains on the side of the vase.

❖Dimensions:
Company: Jasba
Form: 173/18 W.GERMANY
Height: 18cm
∅ 10cm
Weight: 402g

❖Condition: There is a vertical cut in the top rim of the vase, this is not a crack or chip but is a manufacturer's defect that was made even before glazing as the glaze is within the line. There is a small chip on the opposite side where the clay can be seen.
Please note that I use strong lighting to help highlight the maximum amount of detail of each piece. As each piece is bathed in such strong lighting conditions, the on-screen effect will possibly make the item appear lighter in colour and tone. Your piece may look slightly darker in more natural lighting conditions.
