My Little Pony Tales Master Background- Lancer's Mansion

You are bidding on a Lancer's Mansion hand painted production used master background (no overlaying cels are used with this), beautifully painted with bright colors, small painting of a lion on top of the column on the back, on the back, art board measures 10"x8", acetate protection is taped to top and can flip up out of the way or be removed for framing.  Nice example of animation history, this background s a one of a kind piece!

WHAT IS AN ANIMATION CEL? Animation cels are used in creating an animated sequence by hand, the planners take drawings(usually hand drawn pencil art) and transfer it to a transparent sheet of plastic(usually acetate) called a "cel".  The outline is inked on one side of the cel(front) and the color is hand painted onto the other side.  The cel is then laid on top of a background(quote often a hand painted or watercolored piece) and photographed in sequence. Played back at 12 or 24 frames second it gives the appearance of movement.  Sometimes the next photograph will be the same cel with a minor change in eyes, mouth, arm, etc.
