A master of Christian asceticism, Father Luis de la Puente (1554-1624) was a Spanish Jesuit priest and contemporary of St Teresa of Avila who recommended his works to her Carmelite nuns. He was declared Venerable (Servant of God) by Pope Clement XIII in 1759.

Condition of the book graded Very Fine- like new, but for discreet signature of previous owner on 1^st page fly leaf, the dust jacket only is a bit tattered- a collectible in ascetical and devotional theology.
