Up for sale, a 1976 Greco non-catalog SA model in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Exceedingly rare, this top-tier Greco semi-hollowbody is one of the finest (and only) "lawsuit era" instruments from Japan to replicate the feature set of an ES-355 TDC. Roughly analogous to the Ibanez 2547 model that was similarly inspired by Gibson's top tier ES model, this Greco version is both more accurate and boasts a more desirable feature set.

Tonewoods include a sycamore thinline body with maple center block, and a three-piece maple neck capped with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Acoustically, the guitar offers both immediacy and tonal breadth, with a lively, detailed sound captured by the two original PAF-style Maxon-made humbuckers. The bridge pickup is clear and open-sounding, with plenty of chime, while the neck produces warm, round jazz tonalities while also yielding a bluesy cut when pushing a tube amp. The six-position Varitone control works similar to the Gibson variety, producing a unique range of focused and distinctly voiced tones. Position 6 on the Varitone bypasses this control (no filtering) and the sounds get progressively darker turning the knob towards 1. Wired for mono operation and weighing 8lbs 8oz, this Greco has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.
