This is a unique piece of old pottery . It’s another find in our 1800’s Vermont farmhouse root cellar . This crock is salt glazed and has a green- gray hue with hints of brown . It measures 11 in high 7 inches in diameter . The top is an unusual shape . It’s slightly oval and has a swag to it so it appearing mildly uneven . The inside is brown . It holds 2 gallons of liquid . It doesn’t leak but it does have a tiny hairline crack in the glaze ( see picture ) the crack does not go through and you have to look really hard to see it . Overall it’s in good vintage condition . It does have some tiny flea chips on the top . Nothing large . This crock could be used to hold old wooden spoons or dried flowers or even be functional for use . I do not over clean any of my antiques as I love the primitive look but this crock could be shined up to sparkle to display in any old house setting .
