This beautiful doll was
the first of a series intended to mark the Christmas season each year. Royal Doulton teamed with the House of Nisbet
to create this doll. She has a finely
modeled and painted head and hands produced by the Doulton factory in
Stoke-on-Trent. The cloth body and
outfit were created by the seamstresses of the House of Nisbet. She is dressed in scarlet velvet, edged with white down. This doll was produced in
1983 and was one of a limited edition of 3500.
It was only available during the year it was produced. There is an official certificate with the
limited edition number printed on it (1519/3500), and the Royal Doulton
original tag is still attached to the doll’s arm. This doll has never been
displayed, so it is in excellent condition.
The plastic covering that surrounds the box has a tear or separation on
the seam on the left side near the bottom that does not affect the doll or the
Royal Doulton box that contains the doll (see last photo). This doll comes from a home that is pet-free
and smoke-free. A doll stand is included
with the doll.
