Our faux tortoise shell designs are not only strikingly attractive, they highly durable and provide a sound and feel that makes your guitar a joy to play. Impact and scratch resistant, it will protect your guitar investment. The precast pickguards come with an elegant radiused edge so that they appear to have been 'finished in.' Our pickguards are individually created using a resin casting technique; actual appearance can differ considerably from the stock photos shown here. These styles have a swirl pattern like many old Martins. Some have brownish tones; the others tend to redder or red-brown tones and even lighter browns with greenish/yellowish tones. The 'Dark' styles look more like 1920s or 30s tortoiseshell, with lighter, translucent areas. The 'Amber Firestripe' evokes the prewar Gibson or Kalamazoo style. Because they are translucent, especially in the paler areas, colouration will change slightly when mounted on a guitar. Our guards are produced in most standard Martin shapes available. Pre-shaped guards come fitted with 3M adhesive film ready for fitting. This listing is specially tailor-made for Martin guitars. However, they are suitable for many other guitars besides Martin.
