Used Pre-Production ProtoType RS-1 RockShox Fork 1988-89 Still Functional 1" Threaded

The label on the fork steerer is Original.

I wrote to SRAM and they confirmed that this is a pre-production prototype.

At the time this was made I worked for Schwinn Bicycle Co.

The ONLY MTB rider Schwinn sponsored was Ned Overend.

Likely this came back to the factory when Schwinn issued him a new bike in 1989 or 1990.
