Mix one sachet with 1 litre of water and spray on hedge to treat 10 square metres of hedging.
This Organic Pesticide is based on Bacillus Thuringiensis ssp Aizawai.
Once leaves are treated with this, the box hedge caterpillars become infected when they eat the leaves and die within 48 hours.
Inside the caterpillar gut these bacteria produce crystals of protein known as BT toxins (Bacillus Thuringiensis). This leads to the death of the caterpillar within approximately 48 hours.
As the caterpillar's digestive system is alkali, and our own stomach acid highly acidic, this specific strain of Bacillus Thuringiensis will not harm either humans or the environment, including birds and natural predators of the caterpillar such as the parasitic wasp Encarsia Formosa, the tachinid fly (parasitic fly), bees and mites.
