These look to be some sort of compilation books. There is a name in the front covers that don’t appear to be any of the authors. The four volumes have articles and pages with pictures of different types of animals. The books are titled:

Some animals past and present

Birds

Insects and spiders

Aquatic animals

The page numbers don’t line up, hinting at these being compilations. There are some National Geographic articles.

I see no highlighting or underlining through the text of the book. There is some writing on the first page of articles with the title written on the top of the page. From the library of & name written on some books, others have just the name and information written on inside page.
