These vintage Picture Post magazines are a wonderful resource of news and contemporary thought - giving insight to the news, politics and current affairs of the world. There are articles and lots of pictures, and these early 1940s issues are particularly interesting! And the advertisements are great, too.

In this issue:
  • Cover: A Cadet of the Scottish Girls’ Training Corps
  • Soviet Guerrillas - The Partisans
  • The King of the Hellenes: The other side of the Greek Question - King George of Greece - George II of Greece
  • The Philippines: Islands of contrast
  • The Story of a Miners’ Football Team by Lorna Hay - Aberpergwm Football Team - Silicosis
  • The Panto Horse is Thirty Years Old
  • The Frogmen: A German Idea in Warfare
  • Inside Rainbow Corner, Shaftesbury Avenue, Piccadilly Circus by Elkan Allan - Adèle Astaire, Red Cross Club
  • Othello in Moscow - Boris Olevin, Zoe Shigaeva, Nikolai Mordvinov

The magazine is large format, measuring appoximately 34cm by 26cm, with 28 pages

Condition: The magazine is in good vintage condition, showing reading wear and some creasing to the covers, plus the staples have rusted, making the pages loose and some staining damage around the staples, newsagents delivery name on the front cover - visible in the pictures below. Given that the magazine is approaching 80 years old, its condition is pretty good, but certainly not perfect! The magazine pictured below is the one you will receive.

I accept returns, and if you’d like any further information, just ask!
