Approx. 12 by 7 1/2” with naturally bent external covers in gilt embossed red deckled leather with title and decoration on the front and title with Papal Crossed Keys on the spine face, one red silk marker ribbon separately enclosed, richly gilded page block and with full color details of New Testament scenes as end paper decoration inside front and back covers ( see photo #5), in its original plain heavy card board storage box- over all outside dimensions of the box: 12 3/8 by 8 ¾ by 2 ¾”.
The Bible has full page illustrations of the Cardinals of both Toronto and Montreal Canada in the front, unused Family History section between the two Testaments, and several large painting and photo sections of scenes from the Old and New Testaments, the Present Day Holy Land and catholic devotions such as the Stations of the Cross, with a large Bible Dictionary/Encyclopedia in the back, separately enumerated sections, completely in French.
The Bible is in Near Mint condition, never been used, a little wear noted to the external storage box where it was kept for many years- an ornate and beautiful vintage family Bible in the French language.
