A souvenir subway transfer issued by the Toronto Transportation Commission at the Canadian National Exhibition first subway cars on display. This transfer was issued from Aug. 28 to Sept. 12, 1953 to publicize the forthcoming opening of the first subway in Canada. When the subway opened on Mar. 30, 1954, this was the first type of transfer issued from subway stations to connecting streetcar and bus routes.

Transfer measures 6-1/4" x 2-1/4". Reverse shows conditions of use, indicating it is a souvenir transfer. Good condition with some pieces of tape on the reverse ends.
